Murals have now been added to the four planters in The Dip in May 2026

We’ve been working alongside Claire Nicole, our Community Engagement Officer, as well as Carl and David the people who design and spray paint the murals, to help revamp the planters in The Dip.

A huge thank you also goes to Ian, Claire and their two children, our amazing Growing Hollingdean volunteers, who have been helping to look after the plants with watering and planting even more flowers and greenery. They suggested the planters should have that special Hollingdean touch and we couldn’t agree more. The murals feature local wildlife including a badger, fox, butterflies, ladybirds… and of course the favourite cupcakes.

We also wanted to give the artwork a real local identity by adding “THE DIP“, the name locals have always known this road by. Hopefully, we can secure more funding in the future to revamp the other two planters and maybe even the Crestway planters too. A fantastic community effort that has really brightened up the area.
