Tree Guardian

Meet outside Hollingdean Park West side entrance, Lynchet Close, Brighton, BN1 7EY

Growing Hollingdean Tree Guardians volunteers meet on the first Sunday of the month to care for our local fruit and nut trees, join us!

First Sunday of every month for free fitness and fun

Brighton Permaculture Trust helped the local Hollingdean community plant 240+ fruit and nut trees across the local area, mostly in areas of council-owned housing. The aim is to provide more food in the future for local people, as well as encourage biodiversity.

To help take care of these trees we created our Tree Guardian group. Tree Guardians are local Hollingdean volunteers who get together and garden around the bottom of the fruit and nut trees to help them grow strongly. We mulch, prune and sometimes water, it’s free fitness and we also we have a giggle. If you are interested in joining us and to become a Tree Guardian turn up or contact us here.

Hollingdean Fruit & Nut Tree Map

Here is a map that Jo-seph is developing of all the fruit and nut trees that have been planted in Hollingdean by volunteers. See which tree are near you. Please let us know when they need our attention. These tree’s are here for you to enjoy the fruit and nuts they grow, enjoy.

If you are interested in learning more gardening skills please join in with one of our local community gardens near you, where locals get together to plant vegetables, fruits and flowers and also learn from each other. We look forward to meeting you.
