With the re-opening of St Richard’s Church in November 2021 a new outdoor project was born. We are passionate about creation and dreamt about an intergenerational community space where people can connect with nature and each other. With Growing Hollingdean in the driving seat and an incredible crew of volunteers we have run three working parties since the beginning of the year 2023 and completed two new no-dig areas with plants designed to bring beauty and attract wildlife.
Three stunning raised beds were built too where we are growing all kinds of herbs and vegetables for the neighbours to look after and use. In the Autumn, with the new season, we are planning to run monthly gardening days for anyone to join. Watch this space for two new upcoming projects: a compost scheme and a prayer garden. We are learning so much together!
